SC Children who are Deaf or Hard of hearing are not identified and/or receiving appropriate interventions

Beginnings SC is working to ensure that all of these children find places to belong.

Will you help us provide these services with a monthly gift?

We started Beginnings SC because we know how big the challenge is to raise a child who is deaf or hard of hearing. Our goal is to turn our expertise and experience into accessible resources and support as you provide the best future for your child who is deaf or hard of hearing.

We’re here to help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be by creating an individualized plan that fits your family and connecting you with professionals and other parents to increase opportunities for both your child and your family.

We provide professionals with best-practice resources and guidance in order to increase access and reach of SC’s resources. Beginnings SC actively works to spread awareness and identification through hearing screenings, training, and community engagement.

Summer IEP...for Parents

Welcome to the third round of the Summer IEP for PARENTS– Games, Activities and Sports!
Hope everyone is feeling good about doing some fun activities and using lots of language! This week is more of the same-Games, Activities, and Sports. Regardless of the hot SC sun, summer is still a perfect time for fun. Family activities, silly games, outings to see your favorite team play, and playing cards are all ways to add a little more vocabulary development. It doesn’t have to be structured or elaborate, but it does need to be engaging.
